What makes this guy special is that he’s got one heck of a wicked bat trick. The thing is, it doesn’t actually look real, but it doesn’t look fake, either…<br /><br />I doubt the trick is faked because, well… why would you fake something like this with an independent-league baseball player? There’s no marketing behind it and nothing to be gained from it except a few curious baseball fans. He plays up the freeway from us with, so maybe I’ll go check him out.<br /><br /><object width="400" height="335"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YngyMco72QA&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YngyMco72QA&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="400" height="335"></embed></object>Stevehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08175827901330510888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28853648.post-8939524679371692432009-06-17T15:46:00.000-07:002009-06-17T15:49:43.512-07:00Post-It ObsessionSome people have too much time on their hands... or use it effectively, depending on the way you look at it.<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">DEADLINE post-it motion</span>, by Bang-yao Liu<br /><br /><object width="400" height="335"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BpWM0FNPZSs&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BpWM0FNPZSs&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="400" height="335"></embed></object><br /><br />And this one is also on my <a href="http://thatsjuststeve.tumblr.com/">Tumblr</a> account (which I use for things that are more personally inspirational):<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Post-It Love</span><br /><br /><object width="400" height="243"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zWlQeuMrIEw&hl=en&fs=1&"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zWlQeuMrIEw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="243"></embed></object>Stevehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08175827901330510888noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28853648.post-7080844273542287732009-05-23T23:12:00.000-07:002009-05-23T23:14:59.915-07:00Big RapWho didn't love the movie <span style="font-style: italic;">Big</span>?<br /><br /><object width="400" height="335"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/p9z2hJwJuqg&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/p9z2hJwJuqg&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="335"></embed></object><br /><br />I can't believe Hanks can still pull off the whole thing. This is why productions are such costly processes:<br /><br /><embed src='http://www.fandome.com/flashplayer/sportsbox.swf' height='240' width='400' bgcolor='234463' allowscriptaccess='always' allowfullscreen='true' flashvars='volume=100&state=PLAYING&stretching=exactfit&autostart=true&frontcolor=FFFFFF&backcolor=234463&lightcolor=B7B7B7&logo=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fandome.com%2Fimg%2Fwatermark.png&image=http%3A%2F%2Fs3.amazonaws.com%2Flazyimg%2F107610.jpg&link=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fandome.com%2Fvideo%2F107610%2FThe-Mystery-of-the-Yellow-Line%2F&file=http%3A%2F%2Fs3.amazonaws.com%2Flazyjock%2F107610.flv&plugins=yourlytics-1,quickkeys-1,viral-1,googlytics-1yourlytics.callback=http://www.fandome.com/ajax/updateViews.php?vid=107610'/></embed><br /><br />Think about it. That’s a lot of machines and people needed to slap that yellow line down. And on top of that, a bunch of engineers had to sit around for what I’m sure was quite some time to figure out how to merge all the available technology together to paint a line on the television screen telling you how far your team has to go to get the first down. That’s nuts.Stevehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08175827901330510888noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28853648.post-88699146152895963112009-01-06T23:40:00.000-08:002009-01-07T08:44:09.077-08:00Turning JapaneseThe <em>Watchmen</em> Japanese trailer:<br /><br /><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3WNETpX2Jd0&color1=" width="400" height="335" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" color2="0xcfcfcf&hl=" feature="player_embedded&fs=" allowfullscreen="true"></embed><br /><br />I’m thinking they showed more big-picture scenes as opposed to the straight action of the American trailers because a) the Japanese audience is more about story than spectacle and b) not as many Japanese know what <em>Watchmen</em> is about.<br /><br />I’m hoping that there isn’t a delay in the March 9 release date because of the rights issues between Warner Bros. and Fox.Stevehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08175827901330510888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28853648.post-67598070870547442492009-01-04T15:24:00.000-08:002009-01-04T16:04:14.289-08:00Happy New YearPick your poison:<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Andre Rieu</span><br /><br /><object width="400" height="335"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aLAAHs1ohxg&hl=en&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aLAAHs1ohxg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="335"></embed></object><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Julie Andrews</span><br /><br /><object width="400" height="335"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tg8Wp8ChFXk&hl=en&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tg8Wp8ChFXk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="335"></embed></object>Stevehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08175827901330510888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28853648.post-65257811229923419022008-12-31T16:24:00.001-08:002008-12-31T16:25:12.899-08:00We'll All Watch the Watchmen... I really appreciated that, even though he didn’t have a ton of stuff.<br /><br />While that experience was refreshing (and actually happens a fair amount of the time to me – especially given that I’m prone to buying two things at Costco), it brings me to one of my biggest pet peeves, especially around the holidays: inconsiderate strangers.<br /><br />No, really.<br /><br />I hate people who don’t say, “Thank you,” when you hold the door open for them, don’t wave from their car when it’s obvious you let them into your lane, don’t make a little bit of effort to give room when you pass them in a narrow area, or who can’t wait their turn at a crowded four-way stop.<br /><br />It just reminds me of all the little things in the world that aren’t the way they should be.
